As all MGB owners realize the hood (or bonnet) has a
tendency to flop down to one
side when utilizing the
factory ratchet and same applies to the trunk (or boot)
as well.
StrutWise has researched and asked owners and mechanics
as to the positioning of modern gas spring lift struts.
All agreed the original position is fine and when you
think about it, the original position is spot on (except
for the ratchet system).
StrutWise calibrated a strut expressly for this application
and the same for the trunk as well. We have taken all
the guess work away and have the correct stroke for
both purposes. The result is a very smooth and balanced,
hood and trunk you will be very pleased with. By
utilizing existing bracketry in most cases your existing
ratchet rod is in place. This is one person operation
to install; allow yourself an hour.

This saves you having to release the catch! Struts are
calibrated for cars with luggage racks and without a
rack. Your trunk retains the original height. Comes with
all hardware and instructions.
